Making a local HVAC company findable

A page by page UX, content and technical SEO audit of airtoairsanantonio.com, the site for the company I co-own, turned into a prioritized plan and real fixes.

Problem

The site was live, but nobody could tell if it brought in a single lead.

Air to Air AC & Heating serves San Antonio and the surrounding area. As co-owner and the only person on marketing, I owned the website end to end: what it says, how it's organized, and whether it works.

Research

What was already working.

The structure was solid: Home, Services, About, Financing, Reviews, FAQs, Contact and Blog, plus localized service area pages that reference real streets and neighborhoods instead of swapping in a city name.

Trust signals were already strong and consistent: BBB A+, a 5.0 Google rating, manufacturer certifications, financing, and click to call, text, booking and chat on every page.

Findings

Customers praised our before and after photos. The website didn't show a single one.

Almost no real photos. Pages loaded only a logo and a background graphic: no team, truck or job photos.High
No address or map. Only “San Antonio, TX & surrounding areas,” which weakens matching with the Google Business Profile.High
Vague business hours. “7 days a week” with no actual open and close times.Medium
No email address. Customers like property managers had no written way to reach us.Medium
Static reviews. Only six hand picked reviews, despite a 5.0 rating built over years.Medium
Limited structured data. One schema type, so star ratings and FAQ results in Google went unclaimed.Medium
No project gallery. No “here's a job we did” stories to back up the reviews and blog.Medium
Indexing backlog. About 17 pages were “discovered, not indexed” in Search Console.Cleanup
What I changed

From audit to shipped fixes.

I rewrote site copy, restructured the information architecture, and shipped new service and location pages. Tracing why “the phones weren't ringing,” I found the contact form and click to call buttons fired no analytics event at all, so I fixed the GA4 conversion tracking and leads from the site can finally be measured. I also submitted the indexing backlog in Search Console and built a 30 day content and local SEO calendar across the service areas.

Priority plan

  1. DoneAdd real photos of recent jobs on the homepage.
  2. Add a service area address and map that match the Google Business Profile exactly.
  3. List specific business hours on the page and in the schema markup.
  4. Replace the static reviews with a live Google Reviews feed and rating schema.
  5. Add FAQ schema to the FAQs page.
  6. Add a support email to the Contact page and footer.
  7. Recheck Search Console until the indexing backlog clears.
